Before attending Harvard, Garrett did investment banking for Merrill Lynch & CO. in Hong Kong, and worked at an AIDS orphanage in Africa for a year.

Garrett co-founded H.E.R.O. for Children, the largest pediatric AIDS organization in Georgia, and the Global LEAD Program, which together have galvanized over 10,000 next-generation leaders in service programs in the United States, Africa, and Europe. Garrett speaks at conferences and to companies about innovation, storytelling, and “10 Seconds of Insane Courage”. He authored the best-selling book 10 Seconds of Insane Courage. On a personal note, he has worn a tuxedo to Anartica, a top Machu Picchu and the Great Wall of China among numerous other amazing places.
